Kirsten Dunst Granted Restraining Order
2-Dec-2008
Written by: Kristin Hunt

The 26-year-old actress received protection from an enamored intruder.

Kirsten Dunst has been granted a restraining order against Christopher Smith, an alleged stalker who trespassed on her property.

In her declaration to the court, Dunst said, “Given this sudden, aggressive and harassing behavior, I am quite frightened of Mr. Smith and feel that my personal safety, and the personal safety of those around me, is in jeopardy.”

After attempting to call on Dunst at her home four times, and twice getting past her gate, Smith was warned to keep his distance. When he returned on November 20 while the actress was away, her assistant, Elizabeth Donohue, performed a citizen’s arrest.

Dunst’s attorney, David Harris, asked that the court not notify Smith of the restraining order request until after it was approved, fearing that giving notice would be “dangerous.”

Smith claimed to be in love with Dunst, saying that he “connected with [her] spiritually.” He was put on a 72-hour psychiatric hold following his arrest, MSNBC reports.
