Justin Timberlake Has “Man Love” for Samuel L. Jackson

Singer praises and jokes about costar at awards show.
At the American Cinematheque event last night, Justin Timberlake had some very kind words for honoree Samuel L. Jackson.
E! reports that Timberlake, who starred with Jackson in the film, Black Snake Moan, said, “I am here because onscreen and off, I feel nothing but love for the great Samuel L. Jackson.”
He continued by adding, “At least for tonight that mysterious ‘L’ stands for “Love,” man love - and there’s nothing wrong with it.”
The ceremony is considered more like a roast instead of an awards show. Timberlake certainly kept the laughs going by saying that Jackson’s road to Hollywood was greater than his peers Julia Roberts, Al Pacino, and George Clooney.
“Did Julia star in the unforgettable role of ‘Black Guy’ in ‘Sea of Love’? Did Al Pacino have the chops to play ‘Hold-Up Man’ in ‘Coming to America’?” Timberlake said, “And did George Clooney have the range to play ‘Taxi Dispatcher’ in ‘Betsy’s Wedding’ or ‘Blind Dream Man’ in ‘Exorcist III’?”
Presenters at the event also included Denzel Washington, Andy Garcia, Vin Diesel, Kerry Washington and George Lucas. Jackson’s Star Wars costars, R2D2 and C3PO, attended as well.
