Tina Fey’s Scarring Childhood
4-Dec-2008
Written by: Amy Chandler

Fey tells the story of her scar for the first time.

SNL actress Tina Fey opened up for the first time about her facial scar in the January issue of Vanity Fair, reported New York Daily News. The scar, which is on the left side of Fey’s face, is reportedly from a bizarre slashing incident that occurred when she was 5 years old.

Her husband, Jeff Richmond, described the incident in Vanity Fair: “It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”

Fey said she never worried about the scar until she got on-camera. “It’s really almost like I’m kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of ‘Oh, I guess we should use this side’ or whatever,” she admitted, adding, “Everybody’s got a better side.”
