Madonna Postpones Argentina Shows
4-Dec-2008
Written by: Jill Marino

Wardrobe and sound equipment didn’t make it on time.

Madonna was scheduled to perform in Buenos Aires last night, kicking off a round of four shows in Argentina. But the singer had to postpone the shows due to problems with a plane.

The Associated Press reports that the plane carrying some of her costumes and sound equipment was delayed getting to River Plate Stadium, which was where the concert was being held. This was confirmed by Maria Florencia Puppo of Time 4 Fun, a local production company.

The hundreds of fans who lined up for the show were seen by television cameras walking away from the stadium and going home. The first show was re-scheduled for Thursday.

In 1996, Madonna played the iconic Argentinean first lady Eva Peron in the film Evita.

Madonna is now in the Latin American leg of her “Sticky and Sweet Tour.” Last week she began the tour in Mexico City.
