Even though she’s won numerous awards and released platinum albums, pop singer Christina Aguilera said it is still difficult to balance work and motherhood.
Despite the fact she has won numerous awards and released platinum albums, pop singer Christina Aguilera said it is still difficult to balance work and motherhood, but she manages to do it, according to the Associated Press.
Aguilera said she is performing a “balancing act” now that she and husband Jordan Bratman have entered parenthood. Their son, Max Liron Bratman, will turn a year old in January.
Aguilera said she always intended to maintain her professional career after giving birth to her son.
"I wasn't going to give up who I was before I had the baby," the 27-year-old singer said.
She also said that by keeping her career, Aguilera is setting an example for her son to pursue what he is passionate about.
"It's important to stay true to that as an example — also for my son to find out what his goals are, what he's passionate about doing, so it's sort of leading by example in that sense," Aguilera said. "It's a tough thing. I had a moment leaving him today to get ready for tonight of missing him, but every working mom goes through it. They know what it feels like."
Aguilera is set to release her fourth studio album next summer.
