Spencer Defends His Marriage

“The Hills” star responds to Heidi’s mom.
Amidst the controversy that The Hills stars Heidi and Spencer’s wedding has caused, Spencer Pratt has finally decided to defend the union, People Magazine reports.
“It was totally spur of the moment,” he said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Thursday. “If I had planned it, I think I would’ve stepped up my ring game a bit.” The couple bought $8 rings before the ceremony.
Earlier this week, Heidi’s mother, Darlene Egelhoff, expressed her disbelief over the wedding, calling it the “biggest mistake” of her daughter’s life and giving the marriage “six months.” “He’s manipulative and seems to have power over Heidi,” Egelhoff said. “I think Spencer wants to possess Heidi more than marry her.”
Pratt responded this week, saying, “She’s just hurt and reacting crazy because she wasn’t there. I can’t wait to prove her wrong and be married for the rest of our lives.”
