Leno May Stay On at NBC, Earlier
Jay Leno may not be leaving NBC as soon as previously thought.
In a possible sweet deal for Jay Leno, the late night television host with the most may not only be staying on at NBC, but may start hosting an earlier show. Leno has made a number of jokes about being forced to "retire" early, though it is not known exactly why the comic will be giving up the reins of his show to Conan O'Brien in the near future, reportedly 2010.
According to reports, Leno may be given the opportunity to host a 10 p.m. television show. The earlier time slot would show on television about an hour and a half earlier than the Tonight Show currently airs.
Comedian Conan O'Brien will be taking over hosting of the NBC decades-long staple, Tonight Show, while Jimmy Fallon will be taking over for Late Night after O'Brien departs.
