T. R. Says Sayonara to "Grey's"

If T. R. Knight gets his way, he'll be leaving the set of "Grey's Anatomy" in the not too distant future.

T. R. Knight wants to leave Grey's Anatomy, the show that made him a household name. But why? That seems to be the question of the hour, with no apparent answer.

According to reports, Knight recently asked permission for the producers of Grey's to phase him out of the hit ABC medical dramedy.

According to insiders and swirling reports, it may not be too hard for Knight to get out of any contractual obligations that would keep him on the show for too much longer.

It was not that long ago when another cast member left, and was actually fired, over a reported name-calling of Knight. Isaiah Washington was reportedly fired after calling Knight an anti-gay slur, which was the impetus for Knight to reveal to the public that in fact he was gay.

Knight was seen hanging around with fellow castmate Katherine Heigl not that long ago, at the Glendale Americana mall, where he was very pleasant and personable when spoken to. Heigl was also quite pleasant and chipper, a far cry from the tabloid reports earlier that she was a diva on the set of Grey's Anatomy, complaining about the show's downhill writing.

Knight's character, George, has not played a starring role on the show for some time now, since the end of his ill-fated romances with Meredith, Dr. Torres and Izzy. It is unknown what Knight's next career move is, if he is allowed to exit the hit show, Grey's Anatomy.
