Marisa Tomei Inspired by Bret Michaels to Strip

Oscar winner Marisa Tomei is not ashamed to admit she watches trashy reality shows, especially when they help her with a film role.

The actress tells WENN that for her turn as a stripper in the film, The Wrestler, she watched Bret Michaels's VH1 reality show, Rock of Love.

She admits that the show provided an inside look into the world of stripping because, on the show, Michaels is "trying to get a wife and they're all strippers," and it was her "closest association to the actual world of it."

She also learned pole dancing through yoga.

"I had a friend who is a yoga teacher and she does a lot of pole dancing so I asked her to teach me," she said, "I went to a lot of clubs and watched to see the different styles of dancing."

After all the practice, Tomei is confident in the world of stripping, saying, "I like going to strip clubs now."
