Will.i.am Discusses New Black Eyed Peas Album
Nearly four years since their hit album, Monkey Business, the Black Eyed Peas are planning a new album, entitled The E.N.D., for a spring 2009 release - and it's bound to be interesting, according to frontman will.i.am.
Will.i.am said that the band plans to "experiment with what a song is, what an album is" on The E.N.D., which stands for The Energy Never Dies.
"The world's different, and this is our attempt to get in on that," he told Entertainment Weekly. "These kids that are on the Internet are utilizing all these tools, they're being more creative than artists that have million-dollar contracts. . . . F--- yesterday, it's about what we are going to do to define tomorrow."
He also insisted that there would be no distance between solo star Fergie and the rest of the band members, saying that the group never truly broke up.
Will.i.am has been doing pretty well on his own, though. In addition to recently collaborating with Hans Zimmer on the Madagascar 2 score, he will appear in next year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine as a mutant with teleporting abilities.
