Playboy's latest issue stirred up some heated feelings in Mexico.

It cannot be said that Playboy isn't known for stirring up controversy. The magazine, known for its sexy images and buxom female models with little to no clothing, is in hot water with Mexican religious officials, who were reportedly upset by the Virgin Mary-like image on the cover of this month's edition of Playboy in Mexico.
Catholic officials had been quoted as feeling affronted and upset over the image, with a scantily clad beautiful model named Maria, which some took to represent the same Mary of Christian religious dogma.
In a statement, an official at the Mexican Playboy denied that the image had any roots in Mary of the Virgin of Guadalupe, but instead, the "intent was to reflect a Renaissance-like mood on the cover."
