Twilight Actor Really Wants to Stay

Barely days after the announcement that a different actor may take over the role of Jacob Black in the sequel to Twilight, actor Taylor Lautner is reportedly working extra hard to ensure his presence in 2009's New Moon. Lautner played Jacob Black in this year's Twilight, though it has been reported that with a new director (Weitz), may come additional changes, including a different actor for Black. Black is supposed to grow significantly in New Moon, so the idea of a Lautner replacement was not reportedly because of his acting chops, but because of his physical appearance. Lautner is a little under 5'9" and the character of Jacob Black is supposed to be significantly taller, both in the Twilight and New Moon books.

Lautner had told MTV News that he had been buffing up, so it sounds as though he is in no hurry to leave the franchise from which his former boss, Catherine Hardwicke, was recently dismissed.
