Piven Got Sick from Mercury

Comedian Jeremy Piven reportedly bowed out of Broadway show because of mercury poisoning.

Heavy metal near "done him in," in the words of Eliza Doolittle. It was recently reported that famed comedian and actor Jeremy Piven just pulled out of a Broadway engagement. At first, health reasons were cited, but according to new reports, it was Piven's eating habits that were to blame.

According to People, Piven's doctor claimed that much of the food that Piven was consuming was sushi and other exotic herbs, and that Piven was struck with high levels of mercury. William H. Macy and Norbert Butz will take over Piven's role in the Broadway play, Speed-the-Plow.

Piven may be best known for his cutting wit and sarcasm, and for his supporting role in Old School and lead role in Entourage.
