Jeremy, Put Down That Sushi!

Jeremy, babe, we love ya, but not enough to let you eat that third dish of sushi.

Jeremy Piven is a top-notch comedian and very entertaining actor, but just remember: Don't give him seafood! Piven recently had to drop out of the Broadway play, Speed-the-Plow, because of illness. The illness was later determined to be a food-based one, significantly raising the mercury level in Piven's body to alarming levels.

Yeah, seafood is great, delicious, even - but Piven's doctor has given the public advice: Don't let my patient eat more of it! Dr. Carlon Colker told ABC this week that if anyone spots his patient eating more seafood, they should alert him. Piven's reportedly high mercury levels have been blamed on his frequent habit of eating sushi, possibly coupled with the eating of exotic Chinese herbs.

Since the news of Piven's departure broke, rumors have circulated questioning whether it was in fact an illness which prompted Piven's backing out, or simply boredom coupled with the need for a reasonable excuse. Piven's doctor has stated that mercury poisoning is the prime reason behind Piven's early departure.

Jordan Lage, Norbert Butz and William H. Macy will all cover Piven's role in the remaining days of the play, Speed-the-Plow, for the remainder of the production's run.

Can't wait to see what great film and television entertainment Piven will have up his sleeve next!
