Where CAN'T Batman Go?

So Mr. Nolan, what will it be?

Batman's not allowed to go somewhere. . . . And did that ever stop him before?

According to reports, this summer's blockbuster, The Dark Knight, will not be allowed to be screened in China. Perhaps that is because in the film, Batman captures a rogue financier hiding out in Hong Kong. Perhaps that ruffled a few feathers of the notoriously strictly regulating government.

And will Gotham remain fictional Gotham in Chicago, or fictional Gotham in New York? Before Christopher Nolan's 2005 reimagining of the Caped Crusader, Batman's hometown, Gotham, was known as a New York landmark . . . despite the actual location itself being more of a fantasy than, say, a Manhattan landmark. Since 2005's Batman Begins and its 2008 blockbuster sequel, The Dark Knight, audiences have begun to connect Chicago, the Second City, with Gotham. So where will the third outing take place?

If Nolan's previous two choices have been any indicator, he'll return back to the Windy City for the next installment. Already, reports have been flying that some of the biggest names are being floated around as potential costars/enemies, including Rachel Weisz and Johnny Depp, clearly keeping with the newer Batman film trend of hiring attractive actors (Liam Neeson, Cillian Murphy).
