“DWTS” Couple Are Engaged

After a less than six month relationship, “Dancing” pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are now engaged.
According to People Magazine, Chmerkovskiy had popped the question to fellow Ukraine native, 30-year-old Smirnoff, on New Year’s Eve at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.
Smirnoff’s previous relationship was with actor and former Dancing partner Mario Lopez. Their relationship had ended after two years; shortly afterwards she hooked up with 28-year-old Chmerkovskiy.
No wedding date has been set. The couple are currently performing on the “Dancing with the Stars” winter tour, which wraps up in mid-February. Season eight of DWTS will begin March 9 on ABC.
