Oprah Winfrey's Weight Loss Plan for the New Year
According to an article by People Magazine, her TV show is launching "Oprah's Best Life Week" series from Jan. 5-9 to help viewers start the New Year right by being healthy and fit. The show will contain experts' advice, including appearances from heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz and Winfrey's trainer, Bob Green; also, candid discussions of Winfrey's weight struggles throughout her shows.
Winfrey had suffered several set backs in 2007 and 2008. Including allegations of sexual misconduct at her all-girls school in South Africa, discovering that a former guest on her show, Holocaust survivor Herman Rosenblat, had falsified a love story that Oprah had claimed was "the single greatest love story," and to add to the stress, in Oct. 16, 2007 she was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder.
Winfrey, 54, said on her show, "There is no better time for me . . . to get started than a beginning of a new year."
