Vogue Model Sues Google over Slanderous Comments
According to the Associated Press, on Monday, Jan. 5, the 36-year-old Vogue model filed a defamation suit at the State Supreme Court in Manhattan, N.Y., claiming that the comments made on Google's Blogger.com were defaming, malicious, and false.
The anonymous offender made claims on the blog, entitled "Skanks in NYC," that Cohen was "#1 skanky superstar," an "old hag," and made degrading comments on her hygiene and sexual habits.
Cohen's lawyer, Steven Wagner, had stated, "I can't imagine why someone would post these things, then hide behind a screen name. I guess we're going to have to find out." According to Google's policy, they provide subscriber information only under subpoena or other legal requirement.
Cohen is a Canadian native, and has modeled for Giorgio Armani, Versace, and Elle magazine.
