Patrick Swayze May Live Only Two Years
Despite his description of grim odds and suffering from cancer, Patrick Swayze has been keeping busy. In a recent interview with ABC's Barbara Walters, Swayze discussed the scary aspects of facing Stage IV pancreatic cancer, but also noted that he is trying new medications. Not expecting to live for five more years, he is at least keeping busy, filming a new television series, The Beast, which will air on January 15 on A&E.
In the interview, Swayze at least partially blamed smoking for his condition: "I will go so far as to say probably smoking had something to do with my pancreatic cancer." Still trying to keep his spirits up, he added that he still dreams "of a future, a future with a long and healthy life, not lived in the shadow of cancer but in the light."
The star of such fare as Ghost, Dirty Dancing and Keeping Mum was diagnosed early last year with pancreatic cancer.
