Porn Industry Seeking Bailout from U.S. Congress
According to ContactMusic.com, Larry Flynt of Hustler Magazine and Joe Francis, creator of "Girl's Gone Wild," are appealing to the U.S. Congress to grant the adult entrainment industry a $5 billion bailout. They claim that the global economic meltdown has caused their profits to plummet.
Flynt is claiming that adult DVD sales have dropped down 22 percent from 2007. He stated, "With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind."
Francis, 35, feels that the porn industry is just as important as the financial and automotive industry for the U.S. economy. He stated to TMZ.com, "Congress seems willing to help shore up our nation's most important businesses; we feel we deserve the same consideration."
He is planning to travel to Washington, D.C. to plead his case.
