Golden Globes Ready to Shine on Sunday
9-Jan-2009
Written by: Edgar Acero

After last year’s dud, Executive Producer Barry Alderman is looking to forget the past and put on a show that promises great entertainment and glamour for this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

“Last year was not a happy time to go through,” said Alderman, whose show was cancelled days before the ceremony, due to the writers’ strike. Instead of the show, the list of winners was read by the co-hosts of Access Hollywood.

However, the Associated Press reported, “The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards” will be on at full force in the ballroom of the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel and will feature a room filled with celebrities. “We’re making this year bigger than ever,” said Alderman, who is eager and determined to erase last year from everyone’s memory.

The show will feature a face-off between Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet for best actress. Tina Fey, who is looking to swipe awards in the same way she did at the Emmys, will also provide for what could be an unforgettable night.

Celebrities presenting the prestigious awards include the Jonas Brothers, Martin Scorsese, Drew Barrymore, Seth Rogen and many others, according to the Associated Press.
