PETA Loves Oprah!
As if Oprah Winfrey was not already the talk of the town, she now has received a new honor!
Just recently, the talk show queen was awarded the honor of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' Person of the Year. According to Urbanmecca.com, Winfrey received the award from the animal rights-based group on Friday after utilizing her television show to promote vegan diets and bring forth the cruelties that many animals must undergo. According to the PETA President, Ingrid E. Newkirk, the television show host truly uses her "powerful voice to defend those without one."
Winfrey will reportedly be presented by PETA officials with a plaque and letter of appreciation in recognition for everything she has done for animals. The host will join previous recipients like the founders of cleaning product company Method and Senator Robert Byrd.
