New Judge Revealed for "American Idol"
There's new blood on the show.
Watch out: American Idol is back and feisty as ever, with the new addition of 38-year-old Kara DioGuardi, the newest semi-celebrity judge. DioGuardi is the unknown name behind a number of better-known hit songs by better-known singers like Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and fellow American Idol name, Kelly Clarkson.
Starting Jan. 13, DioGuardi will join Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and the passion-rousing Simon Cowell as a judge for the popular talent search. DioGuardi is an award-winning songwriter, so at least she's got her credentials lined up.
