Danny Elfman to Compose the Music for "Terminator: Salvation"

Academy Award nominated composer to make the music for the next "Terminator" film.

According to MTV, Danny Elfman will be composing the music and score for Terminator: Salvation. Elfman has recently just begun his work on the movie due out May 22, 2009. According to Elfman, "I just started yesterday." Elfman also added that the main Terminator music theme composed originally by Brad Fiedel might not make it into the film: "I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it]. And if it doesn't, we [won't]." Elfman found a recent screening of the movie to be "exciting," according to the MTV report.

Brad Fiedel was the music composer for Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, directed by James Cameron. The music for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was composed by Marco Beltrami.

Terminator: Salvation is directed by McG, starring Christian Bale as the adult John Connor who must do battle with Skynet and a now machine ruled world following the nuclear holocaust that was Judgement Day. The movie's soundtrack will also feature a new song by the movie's costar, rapper Common.

Danny Elfman famously composed the classic movie theme for 1989's Batman, directed by Tim Burton. Elfman is married to actress Bridget Fonda. Elfman worked as the composer for the upcoming movie, The Wolfman, as well.
