Ledger's Golden Globe Will Likely Go to His Daughter

Ledger's family ponders the future of Heath's award.

The parents of the late Golden Globe winner, Heath Ledger, say the posthumously awarded trophy will likely go to Heath Ledger's 3-year-old daughter, Matilda.

According to a BBC News article written Tuesday, father Kim Ledger said he watched the awards show with a "bittersweet pride."

Heath Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose.

Ledger's performance as the Joker has earned him a number of other posthumous accolades, including a Critics Choice award and a likely Academy Award nomination.

His mother, Sally Bell, talked with People magazine about the future of her son's award. "I should imagine that eventually it will be going to Matilda. It will belong to her because she is part of him."

Matilda is also the daughter of actress Michelle Williams, who separated from Ledger a few months before his death.
