Prison Break Cancelled
13-Jan-2009
Written by: Gina Ionta

The end of the road for “hit” series.

After four seasons, Fox announced Tuesday the cancellation of Prison Break after its current season, as reported by Usmagazine.com.

Since it first premiered in 2005, the drama television series brought new actors like Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell to the threshold of stardom.

"Prison Break had a hell of a run but it's at the end of its run," Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Los Angeles. "We'll put that one in the win column."

The final episodes will begin to air April 17 at 8 p.m., now moved to Fridays.

"It just played out," Reilly added. "We want to finish strong."
