Mickey Rourke Defends President Bush on Terrorism
14-Jan-2009

Rourke says Bush performed well during his time in office.

While President Bush is receiving flack on how he handled the War on Terrorism during his time in position, there is one actor in Hollywood on whom Bush can count for support.

Foxnews.com reports the Golden Globe winner, Mickey Rourke, told Britain’s GQ in its February issue, he stands by Bush’s conduct throughout his tenure in office and makes justifications for his wrongdoings. “President Bush was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I don't know how anyone could have handled this situation.”

Rourke goes on defending Bush, explaining that the president was put under heavy pressure to act accordingly to the Sept. 11 terror attacks. “It's too easy to blame everything on one guy,” Rourke told the magazine. “These are unpredictable, dangerous times, and I don't think that anyone really knows quite what to do.”

The Wrestler star said that after 9/11, he felt inclined to contribute in the fight against terrorism.
