“Baby Spice” Talks About Losing Baby Weight
14-Jan-2009

Singer admits it took a year to get pounds off.

Sure, Emma Bunton loves being a mom to 17-month-old son Beau, but the singer formerly known as “Baby Spice” said that losing the baby weight was not easy.

“I put on a normal amount when I was pregnant with Beau, but it took me a year to get back to the weight I’d been before he was born,” Bunton said to the UK’s Daily Mirror.

Bunton, 32, even brought Beau, whom she calls “my all,” on tour with her during the Spice Girls reunion last year. She said that the process of losing the weight was slow but sure.

“I did it very naturally and slow,” she said, “I went to the gym two or three times a week and ate healthily. I breastfed, so you can’t go on stupid strict diets.”

In order to maintain her weight, Bunton likes to go running or walk the dogs with her longtime boyfriend, Jade Jones, who is a chef at a London hotel.

“It’s got to be about balance though, being healthy but not letting it rule your life.” She admits, “When my friends ask me ‘round and say, ‘Let’s get a pizza,’ I would hate to be the only person picking at the pepperoni.”

Since becoming a mom, Bunton has not ruled out adding to her family.

“[Beau]’s so good and funny and loves his cuddles. After having such a wonderful little thing, I can’t wait to have another,” she said.
