Patrick Swayze Recovering from Pneumonia
After being hospitalized for pneumonia, the "Beast" actor is on the road to recovery.
Actor Patrick Swayze, currently battling pancreatic cancer, is recovering from the bout of pneumonia he suffered last week, ABC News reports.
Swayze was scheduled to appear at a TV Critics' Association media event on Jan. 9, but was forced to cancel due to what he told People magazine was "some kind of infection." It occurred to Swayze there could be a problem when he had a persisting cough.
While he is still hospitalized, he told People he is "almost in the clear."
ABC News reports the infection could have been due to a change in his chemotherapy regimen a month ago, which might have left him more open to infection.
Patrick Swayze is part of a Chicago-based A&E crime drama series, called The Beast.
