Johnny Knoxville Detained at Airport
Johnny Knoxville was detained Thursday at Los Angeles International Airport for having a grenade in his carry-on bag, reports Radar Online. The Jackass star was going through a security check to board a 7 a.m. flight to Miami when Transportation Security Administration saw the grenade in his handbag. A bomb squad was called, but decided the weapon wasn't live because it didn't have a firing pin or explosive. Los Angeles International Airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles announced in a statement that the grenade was a prop the actor forgot was in his bag.
Knoxville was released and allowed to board his flight following the inquiry. However, he was given a citation.
"It was a practice grenade; a prohibited item," stated Nico Melendez of Transportation Security Administration.
This is not nearly as dangerous as many other stunts Knoxville has pulled. In February 2008, he injured his crotch while attempting to back-flip a motorcycle for the hit MTV show, Jackass.
