Shia LaBeouf Loses License for a Year

We often relate to movie stars like they are above the law and sometimes they do receive different punishments than the rest of us for their crimes. In July of last year, the Transformers star had a car accident, hitting another car with his Ford pickup and rolling two times. He injured his knee and hand. He required serious surgery for his hand because it was crushed.

He was unwilling to take a blood-alcohol test that night and was initially charged with a misdemeanor DUI because officers on the scene said LaBeouf showed signs of intoxication. While DUI charges were dropped in September due to insufficient evidence, the 22-year-old has had his license suspended for at least a year, effective on Jan. 17.

The tale is ironic due to one glaring fact. The driver of the other vehicle was charged with running a red light, and LaBeouf was not at fault for the accident.
