Uptown Girls actress Dakota Fanning may very well be starring alongside Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in the sequel of Twilight!According to Internet reports, the young star has been offered the role of Volturi vampire Jane! The character is a vampire who can "create illusions of pain" and appears to be a young teenager, although she is actually over a thousand years old. For those who have read Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series, it is evident to most that Fanning would play the Italian vampire extremely well. One devotee of the series even went so far as to start an online petition to hand the role of Jane to Fanning because she would be "perfect" for it.

"There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they're in negotiations," a source says, showing that the petition was not necessary.

Will 14-year-old Fanning accept the role in New Moon? Considering that the filming is set to begin this spring, she must decide soon!
