Deadly UTI Kills Brazilian Model
In a sad twist in the tale of Mariana Bridi, the 20-year-old died on Saturday, January 24. Bridi had contacted a urinary tract infection (which is typically caused by intercourse, according to information), in December. This particular UTI brought an especially virulent strain of bacteria. Brazilian doctors initially decided it was best to remove her feet and hands, after the massive infection. By January 24, Bridi died.
According to reports, Bridi was incorrectly diagnosed at first, with kidney stones. When she later came back to a hospital, this time after going septic, it was too late; the amputations only staved off the tragic end to the youth/supermodel hopeful's short life.
Mariana Bridi had built up a sizable fan base. After the news of her early demise became public, many lamented the tragic loss.
