Chris Rock Searches for "Good Hair"

Chris Rock makes new comedic documentary.

Chris Rock wants to go behind the scenes of why African American women are so obsessed over their hair. Whether it be naturally grown or bought from a convenient store he wants to know what’s the big deal with perfect hair. You could find these answers out on his new hilarious documentary called “Good Hair.”

With an interview with the Associated Press, Rock said, “"I thought, wow, this would make a great movie, but that was like 15 years ago, and no one was making funny documentaries 15 years ago.”

According to Newsday, Rock decided to take his camera crew to the beauty shops, scientific laboratories and Indian temples to find out why African American women are paying top dollar for the best weaves and straightening treatments. The comedian wants to find explore the culture and the impact of hairstyles in the African American community.

“So you cut to now, and I have daughters, and I'm really dealing with them and their hair a lot, and my friends have daughters, and we talk about our daughters' hair issues. I kind of saw where to go at it, and now people are making funny documentaries," said Rock.

As of right now, no release date has been made.
