Kelly Clarkson Is Back On Top

The original American Idol has proved her title, rising to the top with her latest single, "My Life Would Suck Without You."

Kelly Clarkson has made an amazing leap to a No. 1 spot on the Billboard's Hot 100 for the second time. Billboard reports that her 97-1 jump surpassed Britney Spears' 96-1 made in October of 2008 with her single "Womanizer."

Clarkson's previous record-making leap was made in October of 2002 with her single "A Moment Like This," that time beating The Beatles' record of 27-1 with "Can't Buy Me Love" in April of 1964.

People Magazine reports that "My Life Would Suck Without You" sold 280,000 digital downloads during its first week available.

"My Life" is the first No. 1 song by an Idol contestant that isn't connected to the show's season finale, according to Billboard.

Clarkson holds the spot as the Idol contestant with the most Billboard No. 1s: 48 to be exact. Carrie Underwood comes in second with 36, and Chris Daughtry is third with 25.

"My Life" is the first single off of Clarkson's new album "All I Ever Wanted," which will be in stores on March 17.
