Super Bowl Goes High-Tech

Everyone's favorite part of the Super Bowl just got even better.

Super Bowl XLIII is coming at you this Sunday, February 1 with the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers playing at the Raymond James stadium in Tampa, Fla.

But that isn't the only exciting part about the biggest day in football, and one of the biggest days in advertising.

Time reports that the very first commercial shown just before going into halftime during Super Bowl Sunday will be in 3-D.

The 3-D commercial will be a 90-second trailer for DreamWork's upcoming animated film Monsters vs. Aliens. Viewers will need 3-D glasses in order to see the commercial in its true form. PepsiCo has delivered more than 130 million pairs of glasses to grocery, drug and retail stores, according to USA Today.

PepsiCo and DreamWorks teamed up to make commercial history. They will also air another 3-D ad, following the Monsters trailer, for SoBe Lifewater.

"We worked longer on this than anyone in the history of the Super Bowl--four and a half years!" says DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg, as reported by Time.

Be prepared and don't forget to get your glasses on Sunday!
