Dakota Fanning in Twilight?

People Magazine reports Dakota Fanning may be joining the cast of the extremely well received Twilight for the sequel to the movie based on the hit Stephanie Meyer's books series. The sequel New Moon will follow as the second installment of the series of the same title.

The 14-year-old actress doesn't deny these rumors. In fact she says they are true.

"It's definitely a possibility and I think it would be really, really fun to be a part of," Fanning told People.

Fanning is up for the role of a young vampire named Jane, who has an immense amount of power.

While this character is nothing like any of the other roles Fanning has played, she isn't holding back excitement for the potential opportunity. She even goes as far as to compare her own traits with Jane, emphasizing her appropriateness for the role.

"We're both pale. I don't think they'd have to put a lot of makeup on me if it works out. I'm pretty pale as it is," Fanning told MTV.

Although Fanning said she hasn't read all of Meyer's books yet, she is a big fan of the cast and says that she would look forward to working with them, according to MTV. That cast would include teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson. When asked if she'd swoon over the star like many other 14-year-old girls would do, Fanning said that although she does think the actor is very cute, she'd be able to keep her control.
