Rob Pattinson Finds Films To Be "Generic"

He does not like the film industry anymore.

22-year-old "Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson reveals that he finds the film industry to be "generic."

The star originally broke out in the film industry when he played Hufflepuff hottie Cedric Diggory in one of the Harry Potter films, but Pattinson did not make his claim to fame officially until he starred as vampire Edward Cullen in "Twilight."

However, it appears that Pattinson does not like the industry he has chosen to involve himself in, because of Hollywood's intense obsession with money, according to Showbiz Spy. "I don't like the way the film industry is," says Pattinson. "If you come with a good script and then it goes to the studios and gets financing, it all gets changed because they want to make money." Pattinson, who is set to star in the "Twilight" sequel "New Moon," admits that he finds that changing the script takes away the originality of it. "And it's like, how do you know if it's going to make money or not? All you're doing is making it generic when you do that, and making it generic is no guarantee that it's going to make money, either," Pattinson says.

Although the actor says that acting is his dream job, he claims that the film industry makes it difficult for him to want to continue it. "The only way to [do] that is to take risks. And you need to be able to trust people. So you get a company together with people you know are good and you know work hard and you can make good stuff," Pattinson reveals. "That's kind of what I want to do."
