Girls Gone...Arrested?
Joe Francis showed up five hours late to his court hearing for his tax evasion case, according to the Associated Press. When Francis didn't show up at his set court time Monday morning, U.S. District Judge S. James Otero issued a warrant for his arrest.
The hearing was scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. However, Francis didn't show up until 1:30 p.m., according to E! Online. His lawyer proceeded to tell the court that her client had been sick with the flu.
Reuters reports that Francis has been accused of not paying taxes on over $20 million in business expenses in a case that was filed two years ago. The allegations against Francis include a $3.8 million expense for a home in Mexico and fake consulting services costing $10.4 million, according to the Associated Press. The multimillionaire has pleaded not guilty to federal tax evasion on two accounts and faces up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted this time around.
