Ticketmaster-Live Nation's Merger Raised Protests
The merger between Ticketmaster and Live Nation raised protests from Bruce Springsteen.
A possible merger of Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. and Live Nation Inc., two of the largest companies in the concert business, was opposed by singer Bruce Springsteen.
According to the N.Y. Times, Bruce Springsteen said on his Web site: "The one thing that would make the current ticket situation even worse for the fan than it is now would be Ticketmaster and Live Nation coming up with a single system, thereby returning us to a near monopoly situation in music ticketing. If you, like us, oppose that idea, you should make it known to your representatives."
The merger between the world's largest concert promoter and Ticketmaster, who has long dominated ticket sales, might raise the face values of tickets even more.
