Stars Begin Arriving For Baftas

Stars brave the cold to show off on the red carpet.

BBC News reports that the starts are braving the cold weather in London to grace the red carpet for the biggest event on the UK movie calendar, the British Academy Film Awards.

It is predicted that "Slumdog Millionaire" will once again thrive at the awards, being held at The Royal Opera House today. "Slumdog" star Dev Patel, who is up for best actor, revealed that he was surprised at being nominated, saying "someone slap me" on the red carpet. The movie is favorite to win the prestigious Best Film award.

Kate Winslet, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are among the A-list stars expected to attend tonight. Pitt's movie, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," is nominated for 11 awards, matching that of "Slumdog Millionaire."

Jonathan Ross is set to host the event, which is being aired on the BBC in the UK from 8pm UK time.
