Rihanna First To Get Physical, Source Claims

According to Bossip.com, a source has told them that singer Rihanna was the first to become violent in a fight that has left boyfriend Chris Brown facing felony charges in Los Angeles.

Ever since singer Chris Brown's arrest by the Los Angeles Police Sunday night on felony charges of assault against an unnamed woman, his case has attracted a media-frenzy. Because the LAPD has not volunteered any information beyond naming the charges filed, speculation has risen to a fever-pitch over the many unknown details, ranging from the identity of the woman to the reasons behind the unexpected broo-haha.

Almost all press outlets agree that the woman in question is most likely Brown's long time girlfriend, fellow pop-star Rihanna, but what many are wondering about is what circumstances led to the fight and which member of the couple escalated the argument into physical-altercation. According to Bossip.com, a source close to Chris Brown's legal advisers has told them what supposedly led to the events in Los Angeles.

"They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party," says the source. "While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments…She went ballistic and began to "beat the sh*t" out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight."

Many websites and news-outlets have reported eyewitness accounts of the physical damage to the female victim, which is apparently extremely severe. Sources have differed, however, on whether the injuries are evidence of a physical attack by Brown, or if they are the result of dangerous-driving or even a possible auto-accident caused by the spat.

Brown and Rihanna both missed the award show for the Grammy's, which they were scheduled to appear at after Clive Davis' party. Brown turned himself into police custody after hearing that there was a warrant issued for his arrest. He was quickly released on a $50,000 bond. According to CNN.com, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office has authorized extra investigative work by the LAPD, with the purpose of ascertaining whether any additional charges should be filed against the young performer.
