Grey's Anatomy May Be A Couple Doctors Short
There is talk about "Grey's Anatomy" stars Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight leaving the show.
Their respective characters, Izzie Stevens and George O'Malley, have had some tough times within the walls of Seattle Grace Hospital; however, this season has put Izzie at a new level of crazy and George has been taken out of the spotlight. Are these story lines plot-strategies to ease their transition off the show?
The Associated Press reports that cast member James Pickens Jr., who plays the Chief of Surgery Dr. Richard Webber, has revealed that the two "Grey's" stars will be leaving the show. Network and studio sources declined to comment.
Not only have the two characters been victim to plenty of drama on the show, but behind-the-scenes drama has occurred for the stars, as well. Heigl removed herself from Emmy consideration last year, saying that her work didn't deserve recognition, and Knight was involved in a situation, involving a homophobic slur, with former "Grey's" star Isaiah Washington.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Knight is unhappy about the small amount of screen time he has gotten this season, and Heigl is reportedly displeased with her character's story lines, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
