Chris Brown Has Hit Rihanna Before

Chris Brown's brutal behavior toward Rihanna on Sunday left her with contusions on the face, swollen eyes, a cut lip, bloody nose, and bite marks on her fingers and arm according to TMZ. The 20 year old pop singer has come to terms with her relationship with Chris Brown, admitting that he has been violent with her before his actions this past weekend.

TMZ reports that Rihanna told cops that this was not the first time Brown has hit her, and she described the situation as an ongoing and escalating abusive relationship.

Brown has not been charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney for assault, but he will most likely be charged for felony domestic battery, according to MTV. There was not enough evidence for a criminal threats charge, which is more serious than domestic battery.

MTV reports that the D.A. has requested more evidence; he wants solid evidence before pursuing such a high-profile case.

Brown's sister has reported that the 19-year-old singer is coping and doing as well as to be expected, according to MTV.
