Limp Bizkit, White Stripes Both Back In Action

They're coming back together to do some live performances.

Rock music fans got a double dose of good news today, when the reunions of two popular bands were reported in various media outlets.

The first band getting back together is nu-metal superstars Limp Bizkit. The group had a string of hits, both on the pop-charts and with the rock-crowd, starting with their 1998 cover of George Michael's "Faith," and continuing into second album "Significant Other" and through their third, "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water." A fourth album, "Results May Vary," was released in 2002, but by this time guitarist Wes Borland, often credited as a key-architect of the band's sound, had left the group due to creative differences with outspoken singer and rapper Fred Durst.

According to Idolator.com however, the long feud is finally over, based on what Durst apparently announced on his Twitter last night. "We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other," read the message, which also indicated that the band will be embarking on a world tour starting this spring.

The other band set to hit the stage again is retro-rockers The White Stripes. While the band has never officially broken up, the band has not officially performed since 2007. While on tour that year, Drummer Meg White suffered anxiety issues that caused all remaining dates to be canceled. Guitarist Jack White has been busy since then with side-projects like his other band, The Ranconteurs, as well as recording the theme for last years "Quantum of Solace" with Alicia Keyes.

The band is getting back together to perform on the final episode of "Late Night of Conan O'Brien." The band has appeared on the show numerous times since their rise to national prominence in the early 2000s, including a five-night run back in 2003. Conan, a big fan of the Detroit duo, has also appeared in their Michael Gondry-directed music video for the song "Denial Twist." The performance will be on Feb. 20, the last night before Conan moves to his new, earlier time slot, replacing Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show."
