Benjamin Button Could Be Sunday's Biggest Loser

The heavily-nominated movie could walk out empty-handed.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button leads this year's Academy Awards with 13 nominations. However, the odds of winning any of the top categories seem to be against the Best Picture contender.

According to the Associated Press, Slumdog Millionaire, which has 10 nominations, is positioned to win the Best Picture Oscar. The film's director, Danny Boyle, is also likely to win the Best Director Oscar.

Slumdog Millionaire took top honors at previous award shows. The Associated Press reports that Benjamin Button "was shut out at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards, while the directors, producers and writers guilds all passed it over for Slumdog Millionaire."

Producers of Benjamin Button need not fret though. The movie is expected to win the technical awards at the Oscars, such as makeup and visual effects.
