Mickey Rourke's Beloved Dog Dies During Oscar Week

The oscar nominee is mourning over the death of his beloved pet chihuahua, Loki.

In the early hours on Tuesday, Mickey Rourke's beloved pet, the 17-year-old chihuahua Loki passed away just days before the Oscar Awards ceremony. Mickey Rourke, who is nominated for a best actor Academy Award for his role in "The Wrestler", had strong emotional ties to his two beloved pets: Loki and Loki's late father, Beau Jack.

In January, Rourke thanked his dogs at the Golden Globes when he was crowned the best actor award for saving his life during his years of in Hollywood.

"Sometimes, when a man is alone, that's all you got is your dog. And they've meant the world to me," he said in his acceptance speech.

According to SFGate.com, the death of Loki is hard on Mickey Rourke, who confirmed the sad news on Tuesday, "(She died at) 5 a.m. this morning. I don't have any (words). Thank you for being sorry, thank you very much."
