Project Runway Finalists Remain a Mystery

The sixth-season finale of "Project Runway" was taped today, the last day of New York Fashion Week, but the designers of the collections seen on the runway stayed a secret.

The cast for the sixth season of Project Runway has yet to be announced, resulting in mystery finalists showcasing their collections at Friday's runway show in Bryant Park. The show has been delayed because of a legal battle with NBC Universal, the Weinstein Co., and the Lifetime Channel, according to the Associated Press.

There have been rumors that the show will be moving from its home at Bravo, where it has aired for five seasons, to Lifetime. The AP reports that the Weinstein Co. made a $150 million deal with Lifetime to move the show. NBC Universal sued Weinstein, and the New York Supreme Court justice ruled in favor of NBC, preventing Weinstein from moving Runway or any spin-off over to Lifetime, citing evidence of a violation of NBC's "right of first refusal."

Though the finalists remained anonymous at Friday's show, OK! Magazine reveals one small detail about the mystery contestants. The magazine reports that the finalists are all women; looks like this season's men won't be the ones to watch.

The sixth-season, filmed in Los Angeles instead of its home in New York City for the past five seasons, was expected to air in January on Lifetime, according to the AP. For now, the show remains in television-limbo.
