Michelle Williams Hopes Matilda Becomes a Doctor

Despite having two actors as parents – one of whom just won a posthumous Academy Award – Matilda will not be growing up in Hollywood.

According to People magazine, Michelle Williams, an Academy Award nominee herself for her role in Brokeback Mountain, wants her daughter to become a doctor. While she is still giving Matilda the freedom to choose her own career, Williams insists she will not raise her daughter in Los Angeles.

"Being an actor's daughter. It's a town that's about one thing, and I want her to have options," Williams said.

Williams also told the UK's Daily Telegraph that she is currently a stay-at-home mom. Life at the moment is one of "cooking, baking, cleaning and sewing," she said. "As a young actress, you feel this intense pressure to work. Everybody says, 'The time is now.' But I can be 28 and take a year off. Hopefully they'll still be something to go back to."

Williams recently garnered critical praise for her lead role in Wendy and Lucy.
