Jon and Kate Plus 8 - Puppies!
The children eat at the table as Kate announces a big present: Two puppies. High pitched screams ensue. Kate already regrets getting the dogs. Somehow, the boys ask if they will have their own puppies. Joel wants to name a dog "Scott," which is quickly rejected by Kate. She doesn't trust the children to name the dogs. Kate suggested "Shoka" and "Nala." Shoka was from a security guy from Hawaii. Nala, as any Disney fan could tell you, was the female lion from The Lion King. Mady throws a tantrum. Nothing matches her expectations. She shows pictures of the dogs and the kids promise to take care of the kids. They feared a small dog since it would break. Jon preps jackets for the kids. Joel talks about wanting to brush the dog. Mady still continues to throw a tantrum about the dog; Jon suggests that she chooses accessories.
The large van door opens at the breeder's home. Kate regrets wearing heels as she walks out. Jeff, the dog breeder, says hello to Mady. He was part of their church's security. The girls pet a German shepherd. Jeff lifts Alexis and lets her ride. Jeff suggested bringing the kids to the dogs to help with bonding. The kids walk into the fenced area. Not all of the kids fit inside the cage so they take turns. Kate was a little floored when Jeff announced that the dogs will be going home that day. Kate picks up one dog and instantly likes her (Nala). She eventually caved when they had the dog discussion. Mady picks a boy as her favorite. Shoka had furrier hair, which made Kate nervous, but she realized that all the male shepherds had a fluffier fur.
After the puppies are picked, Kate holds the two in her arms. Mady is still upset and wants to hold the girl. Cara holds Shoka. Jeff provides a list of supplies. Kate creates a schedule for the dogs as if they were kids. Jon lets the kids play around the place, some go to the trampoline, and others play in the jungle gym. The cameraman helps one of the girls off the ladder. One of the boys tries running over a dog with a toy lawnmower. The kids want to hold the puppies. Aaden is afraid of the larger dog; he asks if the cages are locked, just in case. The puppies are placed in a cardboard box and placed in the back of the van. Jeff tells Kate that she doesn't know when to stop. Kate was surprised to know that the dogs' fees were all going to help a cancer patient.
Nighttime. The drive finally ended. Between the drive from the breeders and their house, Jon and Kate went to the pet shop. Supplies were purchased and soon the dogs are placed in the house. Instantly the dogs pee on the carpet. There's even more pee on the tiles. Kate makes Jon build the dog cage, while she makes a big bowl of food. She instructs the two of them to eat. It seems as though Mady, Cara, Alexis, and Hannah have the best time with the dogs. She screams at the twins to get paper towels; Shoka stepped in his own poop. The dogs stopped peeing in their cage, but they still pee on the carpet. The kids are more aware of their own toys because the dogs eat them if they are just lying around. Gloves have holes, but Jon loves the dogs anyway. The kids thank Kate for the puppies. She tells them that they aren't welcome. They all decide that mom is mean. They soon will throw a revolution against Kate.
